Any tech geeks out there? Apparently I am not geeky enough to solve this problem.. I am running Vista Ultimate X64 my computer specs are as follows:
AMD Phenom X4 9950
Corsair 750Watt psu
Asus M3N72-D mother board
8GB of OCZ 1066 DDR2 ram
Dual NVIDIA GTX 260 SLI

I did not flash my motherboard Bios nor do I plan to. I am using the original clock speed for everything, I do not plan to overclock this thing unless i have too. I mainly use this computer for rendering purposes but lately my x64 system has been acting up, the screen glitches whenever I move the mouse or scroll the scrolling unit on the mouse. When I type my letters/words turn into diffused lines. Sometimes i cant see what im tyyping(such as now). :((((( I heard that vista ultimate x64 isnt very stable, in fact this is my first time using vista. I've used it for about a week and a half or so, I am very dissipointed.. if you guys have any suggestions or facts, please let me know. This will really help me speed up the process of getting this thing fixed! I have a lot of projects that need to be done  kthanxabai

Well, it could be to much heat from your cards, but most likely it could be vista...OR the driver you have for the cards is outdated. Try updating your drivers first.

actually I just got a pop up from Vista Ultimate, looks like my driver for something just stopped responding. Possibly my GFX drivers. I will download the newest driver, the odd thing is. I downloaded the new ones when I installed the OS. :nono:

My nvidia card went out and started giving me terrible fragments and glitches in games, couldnt even play. It works fine for normal use but games just do not work. Ive tried multiple drivers nothing helps, i assume its just konked. I doubt it was a heat problem because i have a zalman copper big ass cooler on it.

^^^ what graphic cards are you running, and when did this start to happen? This only started to happen recently. It looks like Nvida has new drivers out there.

it looks like windows updated on 1/17/09 and it was a BIG ONE.

Ive got an old 6600GT, im not sure when it started because i just recently started playing games after not playing for a long time, and it was doing it the first time i tried. It only does it on some games also. I have tried new drivers old drivers and in between, no luck. I overclocked it and that made it work for a while, and then it started doing the same thing even overclocked.

Not just the GPU gets hot. Fragments can come from almost anything, heat wise. Ever see a capacitor pop?

Jason, update your chipset drivers, then your graphics drivers.

If neither of those fixes the problem, remove one of your cards and see if they still exist. If so, swap cards, see if it still exists.

Macs are Intel based now. It's not the hardware that's a problem with Windows - it's the software. Mac OSX is based off of a Unix Kernel - go Linux and forget about crashes any longer ;)

looks like one of my video cards is defective! I called to the company today about the situation and it looks like they have a lot of problems with these cards... When the card is running on SLI mode it craps like a supra with a bhg on a winter morning. When I run the defective card a lone, it glitches like no tomorrow. When I run the good card a lone, it works wonders!! Looks like i'll have a bitchin good time on monday..

cyfi6: you might want to get your video card checked. It might be defective as well. Give your manufacture a call and I'm sure they will back you up and replace your card, these things are supposed to last a long time.. (stock)
