When I set out to start my T4 conversion, a lot of things needed to be done custom. So a source I communicated with alot was with Jon with MDC Motorsports. After I received my HKS fuel pressure gauge, I realized I needed to change my dash lights to match the color. Steve and I talked about this for a while, and mentioned the LED mod of swapping the stock ones out with the LED's. I purchased a set of lights, and spent the weekend redoing mine. I was so satisfied with the difference I showed pictures to some people. About the same time I received some parts from Jon, and even talked about Chi2k6 with him on aim. Jon told me about how his business grew at one point, then dwindled... and I felt the need to help him out. I began making banners and logos to be made into stickers. When I shared the pictures of the lights to him he thought they looked amazing, and that he wanted to sell them as a kit on MDCMotorsports. Jon asked me if I could build them as a kit and sell them through him

This was the first time any company wanted my help, it felt really good to think I'd be a sub associate with a name like MDCMotorsports! (Most would... in fact people like Empera were working with Jon as well.)

I take full responsibility for the idea of selling them, as I thought honestly it would be a good idea. (That's why Jon asked for the gauging interest thread)

I love all of you guys, and I don't know if you'll forgive me.

Just felt like saying this, that's all... :icon_conf

I have nothing to forgive you of because I didnt take anything personally. I dont think you are a rip off in any form or way. I just think you were too excited and jumped the gun. We all do it, we all learn from our mistakes. I'll more then likely forget about the whole thing in about 10 minutes. Dont beat urself up over it brother. But it is very respectable for you to apologize

live and learn bud! :) we've all jumped the gun before. no hard feelings here. generally, so long as one admits one's faults, especially outright such as you have in this situation, most will be forgiving. even though you might have been warned to apologize, it still takes a big man to do so.

you're ok in my book.

I didn't see the whole thread unfold until it was closed, but I think it got a bit 'violent'. I'm somewhat new here, havent been around to know everyone. But I don't believe you were trying to rip anyone off. I owned a kawasaki ZX6 and the exact same idea was a big modification. before I got rid of it I was intending on sending my gauge cluster out and having it recolored from the stock ugly green. Sure most Supra owners could do this themselves but not everyone is as motivated and knowledged to find the bulbs, install, etc. This idea of you and MDC offering a service and making some profit from it is a completely legitimate cause. It's a shame your idea and Interest thread turned into such a controversy.

Brent i still say it wasnt your fault...there was a "GAUGING interest" Thread, to see wat people had to say about your idea, and then people got out of line with they're bullshit. It is a service, if this service was a "rip off" then so are services like Changing Breaks, Changing oil, doing body work, etc...etc... because they can all be done by You but sometimes you dont want or dont really want to get ur hands dirty so you Pay someone Else to do the job for you.
In short theres no need to appoligize, If something doesnt work out because people are negative about it...fuck them, all this because you wanted to help someone else! Live and Learn.

empera hit it right on the nail Brent. You offered a service for people who did not wish to source the parts themselves, or install it themselves. NO different that paying a show to install your new clutch, brake pads, shift knob :biglaugh: , you get what I mean. People who had problems were most likely jealous they didn't come up with an idea they themselves could capitolize on and make some cash. One hand washes the other 'round these parts, and as such, your hands are now clean.

big thumbs up to you brent for steping up. apology accepted.

from what understand this was not driven by greed so no harm done. lets just all remeber that we are here to help each other out not to make money from others lack of knowledge.

now lets let this drown into depths of forums and forget it.

brent, i know you make your own decisions. i just read in another thread how i believe it was dziuggy who warned you, or proposed, per se, that you should apologize to the community. regardless, off into the depths of the forums as stated already...
