what boost controllers have good overboost protection? What are these overboost protections (warning (autiable, visual?)), shutdown?), and where are the best places to get them? Thanks, I need that saftey:aigo:

I'm looking into the blitz SBC I-D, or SBC dual, but ultimately i'd like anything with good overboost protection since i'm now running a FCD.

Its all about the overboost protection for me since i run a FCD now, I'm just trying to get the most safe boost controller, if it wasnt for the saftey feature and such i'd prolly be happy with a MBC.

(please no "FCD is bad" lectures in this thread, I know I'm almost asking for it with the above post)

I have a GReddy Profec BSpecII that I'm willing to sell. 3mo used.
I had just started getting to know how to use it, but got pwnt by Massachusetts and lost my license.

I've never had a problem with my manual boost controller, I got a boostvalve.com MBC, i really like it.

and supra90turbo, I see that it has both a warning and boost limiter feature on the B spec II, do you know if the warning is audable or if its just the screen turning red and some sort of warning message?

The screen turns red when it hits your high limit you set and it also lowers the boost by a certain %, again, this is a setting you define. So it does both.

hottscaieogh: I didnt run it for too long, and it's been too long since I've used it. lol.
I believe it displayed in PSI, but I'd have to double check. I also believe that you can wire up a buzzer to warn you when a spike occurs.

You think maybe the AVCR offers more than I need? How much are we talking for one of these (from you)?

Admittedly, the AVC-R takes a little time to learn. A week or two, but with its' fuzzy logic, it rocks. Playing with the duty cycle reduces spool quite a bit. There's quite a few more features, you should read up on them (and the other EBC's) before making you decision.

I don't sell them, I'm just selling mine. Without worry of me trying to push mine on you, feel free to ask any questions about the AVC-R's.

Thats right, i saw that. Its a great deal, but i already have an SAFC, If i didnt i'd consider it, but I cant drop that much right now. Good luck with the sale, and thanks for all the info!

I'm interested, i was thinking about how hard it would be to wire up a buzzer. Have you considered how much your asking?

I paid $320 for it, $300 seems fair to me, but feel free to shoot me an offer. I used it for less than 3 months I believe. It's as close to new as used gets.

It took me about 30 minutes to solder the avcr in my car, very easy.
I read up on it, and then went to play :)
By the end of a few runs, i was getting a hang of the duty cycle boost control.
You can set the boost high as you want, but start low on the duty cycle.
As you make runs, increase the duty cycle slowly until you hit a sweet spot where you don't overboost or hit fuel cut.
I really like it that way .
This is not a straight "set it to xpound of boost and off you go" boost controller.
It reads injector duty cycle, rpms, throttle voltage etc...
I think the solenoids is a lot better than the greddy ones too and a lot quiter.
