I'm going on a road trip tomorrow, and I'm just wondering where your stock oil pressure gauge sits at around 3000rpms. Mine sits at 20psi. Is it normal for it to drop just below that mark after about 20 miles of driving with cruise control. Thanks a lot guys, anything that ya'll can tell me will help.

i have drove from rockford il to rainsville al and back in my supra. my oil pressure gauge never dropped below 30. it stayed between 30-40 psi at all times. then again i run 15/40 oil.

hope that helps you a lil. thats my experience.

4psi on warm idle 20psi on normal driving :wiggle: :stickpoke

doesnt help that my oil pressure and water temp gauges were put on incorrectly. Ive got rod knock too so..

Mine runs at 40 on startup, down pretty low once it's at warm idle (~10psi), 20 on normal driving, and up to 40psi when I get on it on the highway. You won't see more than 40 with the stock bypass installed.

Both before and after my rebuild (with a new unmodified Toyota oil pump) my car runs 60 psi on a cold start-up, 40 psi at a 3,000 RPM cruise and 19 psi at a hot idle.

You can see it IN THIS VIDEO.

I think the stock oil pressure blow-off is set at 60 psi, not 40.

I come from a land down under
About 65 psi till the Oil reaches 180f then the T Stat opens and the Oil flows through the cooler and climbs to 80 and stays there.

This behaviour is a bit disconcerting but I've watched it closely and it does it everytime so I'm not concerned! (you would expect it to be higher while it's cool)
