You know sometimes id rather my engine completely blow up....then the battery just die out of nowhere lol...

seriously...i go to leave earlier today and the damn thing wont start...just click click click... worked fine yesterday.... so my driveway is on an incline so i figured i would at least get it narrowed down to either battery or starter by bump starting it...so put it in reverse and took the ebrake off...rolled back bump started it....runs fine....drove it back into the driveway...

go play with the battery cables some...still just click click...so now the car has been sitting in my driveway runing for the past hmmm almost hour now to hopefully charge the battery.... which im about 95% is the problem...if i had my multimeter here i would know for sure lol...but i dont so im starting with the easier thing first rather then try and fuck with the start which hasnt had any problems before at all...

so yeah....i hate stupid little problems....

You probably already checked it but it might be the battery cable that runs to the starter. Mine came lose and you can usually tell by wiggling it. Hope my post isnt completely useless though

I had this problem with my 92 Turbo... the battery would keep getting low and it was a new Redtop! turns out it was the bolts on the alternator that were copper plated and corroded... cost me like $9 to fix

could be worse...

yeah i was pretty much right.... the battery terminals had corrosion on them... enough to stop the positive side from having much of a connection.... so i cleaned them off and put it back on and she starts no problem now...

this is the second time this has happened...time for a battery that doesnt have so many corrosion issues i think...

wanna hear a stupid little problem? my car has been loosing small amounts of water for over two months. Thought it was the head gasket, the radiator, and everything else. Spent over $500 trying to get it fixed. It was the stupid little water pump to pipe hose. The clamp on it was loose, and it was losing the water onto the back side of the exhaust manifold, leaving no trace of a leak. 45 seconds with a screwdriver fixed it finally. Found it tonight.

I just replaced my battery last night. It was low on fluid and i topped it up but i think i topped it up too much and its just didnt have enough to make the car catch,it would crank but no spark. The heat dosnt help and its going to be summer soon so i changed to a new battery.
gixxer: is that the little 90deg bend one? that runs under the exhaust headers and to the heater? mine burst close to home and dumped all my new toyota red coolant out.

i was under the impression that your battery isn't going to charge by idling? some cartalk puzzler about idling in traffic with ac on and having the car just die after a few hours is coming back to me...

if your alternator is doing its job and your battery will hold charge...it should be charging the battery....
