getting a vin checked wont stop a car from being crushed or seized.

plus, the DMV isnt too keen on handing out info regarding a car that you cant prove you own. they dont like telling strangers personal information attached to vehicles. i mean, would you think its safe if i saw your car in the mall parking lot, wrote down the VIN, went to the dmv, said im buying it and got your registration history with name and address and all kinds of good stuff? probably not...

plus, dont accept titles that have someone else's name already on the buyer's line. the dmv has specifically told me they wont accept that. the original title holder has to get the title reissued and/or the First person on the buyer's line is the ONLY person who can transfer the title.

whats not true? the fact my bike got crushed, or the fact that you should be extra carefull buying something without a title.

And the ca DMV wont tell you any info about the person the car is registered to, which is why my bike got crushed.

if its YOUR car apply for a new title.

Yes its my car, it has not been smogged since 2005.Sure I can apply for a new title, sure i can fix all the paper work. I'll just raise the price for the car, come on now you can't beat the deal im giving as is, I might as well fix the car and get it running and sell it for 1500 dollars or more. I am just tring to get rid of it. I have no place to keep it.
