Just bought a 88 7m-gte, had a oil pan leak. or so i thought, so i replaced oil pan and gasket.
To no avail it was still leaking, this time it was coming out of the bellhousing, so i replaced the rear main.... put it all together and wonderfully it was still leaking from the bellhousing,,, so i decided to replace it once again.... today i finished that and NOW i see that its still leaking,,,, this time it appears to be coming from around the turbo oil cooler where it goes back into the engine,,,, i tightened 1 of the bolts so i hope that works, the mosquitos were attacking me with a vengeance tonight so if anyone knows that specific area and what could be leaking from there, its not the line going into the oil pan or the gasket and its somewhat hard to see down in there,,,,

PS: it doesnt leak when its at idle only when driving,,,,, and.... if i have the pcv blocked could that cause some sort of pressure increase and make it leak out of the dipstick tube?.View attachment 44986

Yes, you definitely don't want your PCV system blocked. An improperly set up PCV system can pressurize the crankcase enough under boost to pop the dipstick out and have other bad side effects like you are describing. Just route your PCV like it should be stock.

On a side note, I replaced my valve cover gaskets and they loosened up after a few miles and leaked down the back of the engine making it look like it was leaking from the bellhousing. That's just something easy you may want to check.

ok so i bought the car and it had the little metal tube running around the little plastic case that says turbocharged 3000 ect (understand?) ... it goes around and he didnt have a catch can, he had a spark plug jammed into the hole with a hose clamp... so what would u recommend....,,,, i oh he said he had a catch can but it never had anything in it,,, and when i take the plug out its too big of a vacuum leak, i do have a extra pcv valve from a 96 grand prix, what if i shoved that in the tube hole? lol

What is connected to the PCV ports on the valve covers? You should route it like this:

heres some pics, the 1 that is blocked is a really good vacuum source if i could harness the powah!, if its not blocked or running something the car prettymuch dies from such a horrid vacuum leak, the guy i bought it from said that that was the pcv, does he know what hes talking about?

In the first picture, that's not the PCV ;). That's the IACV (Idle Air Control Valve) and there is no reason to block that off on the stock ECU. That port needs a hose routed back to the accordion tube. In the second and third pictures, that is not how the PCV should be routed on a turbo motor. That's actually very similar to the routing on a 7M-GE motor, and when you go into boost the positive pressure has nowhere to go but in the crankcase (which could cause some of the symptoms you are describing).

Route your PCV like the above picture. I can't find the service manual picture to show you the IACV, but you simply need to connect that blocked off port to the accordion hose as well.

Dunno how it's idling seeing as how that blocked off port is to get metered air to control idle. Also, the PCV system is wrong for a GTE...

You should go to the person you bought it from....look him in the eye.....and sock him right in the neck!

That PCV setup is the reason your rear main is/was leaking and the reason oil is coming out of the dip stick tube.

ok so run the hose to the accordion hose where the AFM is,,,,,, which it doesnt have a spot to put it so i will have to make 1..... now the pcv,,,, the hose that is in the "S" shape should go to "see pic"

Ok........ i routed the idle air control port to the accordian tube first... actually i did it right next to the tube where the AFM is located, i used brass fittings and made it look all nice... anyways, i started it up and it ran,,,, but when i hit the gas it prettymuch dies... so i took out all the work i did, blocked the iacv off again, and it still kinda runs like shit but its better then it was... big waste of a day and still at square 1 -1 -_-

Edit: Thought i should add,,,,, when i had it all set up, first started it with the iacv set up it ran somewhat shitty,,,, it ran for about 10 sec and the idle picked up and it started running a little better,,, did something in the computer change?>..or something? ughhh... neways still leaking oil,,,, think ima get it insured put sum firewood under it and let the sucker BURN!

Where is your fuel pressure regulator?
You should not need to make any new holes in the accordion tube.
The metal pipe attached to your valve covers is for an NA, throw it away.
Get your car looking like this, until then you can not be helped.

Not my pictures.

Thx a bunch bunch but i replaced the accordian tube, bought a 45 degree pipe with some hoses and bought a vacuum thing for my intake ,,, it had 3 holes in it if any of u know wut im talkin about,... so i ran tube from pcv and the iacv and wow... its like a world of difference, 2x faster then when i bought it, no oil leaking thx to all that helped, ill post pics of what i did.... it looks pretty nice :)~ thx all

PS..... while i was settin it all up,,, i finish and go to start it and it ran like shiiiiit,,,,,, when i hit the gas it died,,, so my throttle positioning sensor took a shit, ordered 1 and itll be here in 2 days then my wonderous supra will be in tip top shape,,, betta watch out corvettes! lol
