Iam still confused thinking if they will call it a supra because everytime I ask a Toyota dealer if they will ever bring back a Supra they just laugh. They say not enough people buy sports cars toyota is more into the family and truck market not High Hp cars.

This car is not a new car, it is a mk4 supra.
Depending on how much of it is actually a Supra chassis, it could even just some carbon body panels that kind of look like a Supra.

That race, and the car that won it, is old news.

BUT despite that being said. Every report that I have read into says that the FT-HS will be going into production... in order to compete with the new Camaro. (That is hearsay).

The FT-HS is even on Toyota's website... but it's listed as a concept vehicle.

The car itself would be amazing if they pushed it through, there is so much potential in a hybrid like that. That was proven when the Denso SARD won that endurance race.

You can bet though, that there will be people, that will buy that newer model car... and just take a few measurements... and drop either a 1J or 2J in it... tehe :evil2:

that would be dumb? why would you put a 1j in that car.....
the hybrid engine is going to have way more hp and Tq!!!!!!
Easy. People are going to stick to what they know. I never said that I myself would do it, but I know a few people that wouldn't want that so called "fancy stuff" in their vehicle... but they would like the looks of the car enough to buy that.. and stick a 2J in there that builds lots of HP and TQ.

The only reason I could sit back and say that people would go on and try to stick something other than what came in the vehicle originally is that its designed to have a V6 in that model... and most people would prefer to have an I6... almost any day of the week.

Get my drift now... it is only a prediction that I have.. that people will probably end up doing that kind of swap. I am aware that it might not happen... at all.

There is no way "people" will do that, assuming you mean members of the general public. A hybrid like that will be so much faster on electricity then some laggy peaky turbo 3 litre that I think "people" will not mind at all.
