I've been looking at several wheels and one question i have is what width would be a good match with my car. Basically its stock but I plan on getting an exhaust, intake and BOV soon, with these mods what width would be good? I was like 9-9.5. thanks.

Hello,

Everyone has a different opinion on this and its all personal choice. I think the nicest looking supras have 18's with 8's up front and 9's in the back. I think a 245 looks good up front and a 265 in the back. Also a nice clean drop is a must with those wheels. 1.5 up front and 1.0 rear

Thats my 2 cents but do what makes you happy. The only person that you need to impress is yourself so buy what you want in the fist place. I think if you settle you just end up spending more money in the long run.

Good Luck

i like them as wide as possible in the back, alot of people run 285 tires in the back, i believe some people have fit in larger too.

One thing to remember when choosing rims and tires is, if your going to do nothing but drag race go wide. If your going to drive it normally 98% of the time and it rains where you live, the wider the tire the lower the speed at which your tire begins to hydroplane. Just some food for thought. I went with the stock rim and Goodyear Eagle F1 GS D3 EMT 245/50-16 tires so they gave me some width, height, and awesome traction in dry and wet weather.

Another thing to keep in mind when choosin wheels is weight yea 18s look great but they also weigh a good bit usually but Width and wheel depends on application just daily then u dont need a monster of wheels 245 front 265 back is always nice to me but its a bit bigger set of tires

it all depends on the offset. closer to 0 offset you go, the further they'll stick out and vise versa. Im getting 18x8.5 up front and 18.9.5 in the back. The offset for these are +35 for all four corners. Ideally you'll want to stay within +30 to +42 offset. All different types of rims have different offsets. Do a search and you'll see what other people have for offsets for a particular rim.

When your driving down the freeway minding your business and some kook flys by you spinning 360's cause he didn't worry about rain when he bought his cheap arse tires and you need to hit the skids to help keep him alive, suddenly it will come to YOU why you should have tires that not only handle great when it's dry, but Stop your freaking car when it's wet.

geezer reminded me of something...buy some decent tires! wide rims and a lot of rubber is a waste of time if the rubber is hard as a rock or useless (anyone that has ever driven on kuhmo 711's or 712's knows exactly what i'm talking about). and if you drive mostly freeway (or around town) with a staggard set-up you will eat through tires a bit faster (can't rotate 'em) 17 (or 18)x9 should be enough. btw, i have 17x8 35offset with 245/45/17, fit flush and work well in h20. was even ok in snow (it fucking snowed in the Santa Cruz mountains today, wtf?)
