Hello guys and girls.
I used to tighten crank pulley bolt using "5th gear + brakes" method... But now I have car with automatic transmission...
the problem is I _never_ even seen auto cars before... I don't know what I can do and what I can't with this thing...

So please give some advices how to tighten that bolt on auto (without using pneumo-wrench).

Thanks

yes, its a pain in the ass, but someone holding the ring gear with a prybar while you tighten the bolt is the best option in my book. Ive read about the rope trick, but somehow putting something in my combustion chamber and essentially jamming the piston in the bore didnt excite me.

I know a few people who have removed the cams and used the rope in the cylinder method.

Although I have never seen it damage anything, I cringe when I hear this method mentioned. +1 for the buddy method.

Removed the starter motor and stuck a BIG screwdriver in the teeth of the flywheel, could not find an inspection cover on mine.

your supposed to you a specialty tool from toyota that looks like a breaker bar but splits like a Y with a bolt on each end to attach itself to the pulley

The inspection plate is a black plate in front of the transmission right under the rear of the oil pan(4 bolts hold it in iirc).
