How to tell the difference between cams....

I've found a cam out in my pile of parts and I'm not sure if its intake or exhaust. Are there any visual differences?

exhaust cam has that gear cast into the front of it.

edit*** see pic, the cam on the right is the exhaust cam, it has the gear I'm talking about.
