I recently pulled the engine out of my car and am wondering if its a JDM or not. The metal coolant pipe that runs along the exhaust side of the block that goes to the heater core on the driver's side looks like it has been factory capped off. The previous owner had a hose running over the head to the heater core from the passenger's side outlet of the pipe. Also, the car is a 1990, but the engine has a 6m crank. Is there a sure way to tell if the engine is indeed a JDM replacement?
Thanks

you mean, the when the JDM motor is installed its possible the installer swapped over the EGR components in order to pass emissions. right?

right. Ive owned 2 supras. Both with jdm motors installed at one point. Both had the egr system and usdm mani. I suppose lazier mechanics would forego installing the egr. Unless there is no need to keep the car legal. I have the jdm mani in a box the last owner kept from my supra now.
