How to remove water pump housing?

I look through all the TSRM and search my eye balls off online and no luck. I got the water pump off the supra but how in the world do I remove the water pump housing? Its a bit dark to try right now but It would be better to see one done before I attempt.

IIRC it's one big piece and part of the timing cover.

You need to take all the timing stuff off the front of the motor, then it will come off. I've never done it but you might want to see how the oil pan seals up as well, just to be sure you can get it back on without creating a huge leak.

To remove the water pump you need to remove the fan. The fan clutch is attached to the waterpump and could come out with it but when I think that it might be easier to remove it first. There are a bunch of little bolts (and a few nuts) holding it into place.

You DO NOT have to remove the engine timing cover to get to it.

He's asking how to remove the front cover NOT the pump.

Because it's badly erroded.....

ahhhh

damn, both of mine look like the front cover is actually coated where the waterpump is.

current engine was one that had only water run through it (it ate the head, had to rebuild my old head). Pulled the waterpump at it looks pretty bad, but the waterpump housing was dark grey like my other one in there and there wasn't any sign of erosion...

But like others have said, it's NOT a simple thing to remove, it pretty much requires full disassembly of the engine...

^ It's not bad enough to just cop out like that. If you have changed the timing belt you're more then half way there.
