It's not hard. I just did it in 5 minutes to answer this question, with a targa in my shed. You pop the metal clips loose on both long sides. That leaves it still held on by the moldings down each short side. You kind of need to go up or down with it. You'll need to start one side at a time to get past the lip of the molding. Once both sides have moved, you can slide it right out. I only went halfway, so not positive if it will hang up at the end, but I doubt it will.

BTW....My spare targa is red, but it has a blue headliner. Let me know if you have problems. I can take pictures if needed. And, if you screw up and need another headliner, I will sell this top whole or in part.

The way i did it was during my targa seal install so i removed everything.
1: Put targa on a stand or table, make sure not to scratch paint
2: Remove targa seals, i was replacing mine so i didnt care
3: Remove the 4 screws hidden under the seal/silicone stuff.
4: Remove the side trim piece and targa bolt pieces. The rest of the liner should just be held on by clips, so pull it off.

If theres a easier way well, ignore this lol. But since i changed mine during my seals this is the way i did it.

Yes you need to remove the side Interior/ outer molding trim as it is hooked over the headliner, the screws are under the seals. When you re-install make sure to use lots of RTV at all the joints and screw holes. The Targas are very hard to make leak proof. Its also a great time to get new seals, if they havent been changed before, I am not sure if Jeremy changed those before.

He did change these, evidently, but I'm going to have to do it again... there's NO WAY I'm getting those seals off in one piece. :(

I have a couple of new sets of seals for a nominal fee.
