Well, actually its not at all.. They just removed the trace amounts of ethylene glycol etc and now the oil is your standard gold color. Dunno why people think its so different haha, guess color matters.

Still technically "GC" (Gold Castrol- vs. old Green Castrol. Still made in Germany to the highest standards and by law is an actual synthetic and the best IMO besides serious money for Redline.

-Available only at Auto Zone. [REAPER, if its not available around you, I can get you some if you'd like haha.]

This in my opinion is the best oil you can buy.

Not to be confused with US Castrol Syntec which sucks arse.

OT:

Mobil one synth = POS. You group III hydrocracked son of a..........
Castrol Syntec US= POS. sigh..
Royal Purple = Good oil for race cars, but their add pack just does not cut it. wtf walmart?

Redline= Best there is. But $$. Excellent protection, ester base stock.
Castrol GC= My favorite, awesome oil. PAO based mostly, still FTW.
Pennzoil Platinum= Actually pretty decent oil, especially considering its base stock.
Amsoil= Have heard good things, even lately from JDUB.

All proven by JDUB through chemical analysis or BITOG fact finding missions. I have read and verified all as such. You have the knowledge, now make the the decisions.

You need to visit the fluids section and speak to sir JDUB.

You own a Supra, why settle for less than perfection when you have perfection itself?..

Why, because my father was a supervisor of 4 laboratories that specialized in lubrication analysis for industrial and commercial companies. They also tested coal and coke quality for US Steel in Pittsburgh PA. They also did quality testing for the SAE... They tested all types of oil to see what was the best with anti friction, best with detergancy, and heat protection so on and so forth... Royal purple has great anti friction additives in it...

If anyone is going to convince me of a good oil, it will be him. Untill i meet or talk with someone that i feel is more knowlagable and more qualified, i will listen to him. He says over all mobile 1 full syn was the best performer in most classes. So i will most likely be running that in my motor after the rebuild...

Assuming both sources are correct, neither of you are necessarily wrong. Your favorite oil targets having the best cold start characteristics. His favorite oil performs the best in steady state (with the anti-friction).

They are so incorrect on his end that its ridiculous.. RP I could agree with to a certain extent because it does have some decent detergent/ etc. and as long as you changed it often it would be fine.

BUT, Mobil Synthetic being the best?!! NO. Simply put, every single chem analysis from BITOG shows it to be an overpriced bunch of nonsense. Doesnt mean it doesnt work, but the longer you leave it in, the more you see just how great of an oil it is.. :sarcasm:
