For lack of time, thinking of moving on and selling my 88 tt mkiii.
I would like to get an idea of what people think its worth.
I have personally run out of enthusiasm for working on cars.

sp 61gt with <10k miles on it w bic ddp and its never seen >12psi
2.5" ic ss hard pipe kit with hks ssqv.
aem fuel pressure reg and gauge.
megasquirt 2 system with relay board.
red top optima battery
motor rebuild with parts with <1k miles and just now doing my 2nd break in oil change=
new radiator , had a fan spacing accident and got it fixed but it cools fine.
fan clutch, toyota ign wires, rc 750cc inj, waterpump, oil pump, timing belt kit, rod and main bearings,
mhg, cp .040 pistons with eagle rods and performance valve job...

The power window switch for the drivers side is new, still wont go down when it gets really hot in the car, I suspect a wire or motor problem.

Interior, gray clean with no rips etc.
Exterior, mostly straight, paint job looked good but had lousy prep so its flaking off and needs to be stripped off and repainted. I have brand new toyota moldings for the front and back windows.
.extra driver door as the door on it now had a bit of a accident and got bent at the handle area when it got backed up into a wall with the door open, was going to replace when I got the paint job.

130k on the car.
AC compressor developed a leak but I have extra R12, new evaporator , new lines installed, just need compressor to be rebuilt or replaced.

So I really enjoyed the supra and at one point had more time to work on it. Once I started playing with the boost it was downward spiral. then I got the bigger turbo and blew my head gasket before I coud even use the turbo. Now I got the motor back together with the megasquirt mostly tuned but just do not have the time to finish her up.
Worst thing is she needs a paint job.

She drives good, po did a lowering job by heating the springs so my first 20k miles ate up the toyos, now there are some used bf goodrich tires on there.
she needs emergency brake cable, wheel bearings, shocks and springs to get going down the road smooth again.

Thanks for reading, please let me know what you think,

I see your dollar and raise you one free meal at my restaurant on me!, aha! take that!:biglaugh:

But really, pics are necessary. Also, where in Florida, if I may ask? Depending on the top or bottom, it could add another 4 or five hours for a drive.

Maybe I'm just blind but I don't think you posted what engine it has, but you blew your hg so I'm assuming a 7mgte. My guess would be... 7000?

+1 on 7M guess

SP61 or TT (Twin Turbo)? With the problems you stated, I'd lean towards a $1500 value without pictures. Maybe more with the mods it has, but those problems are not easy ones. Good paint is not cheap either.

Well since there still isn't any pics I'm going to assume the car looks like ass and is only worth $500. Part it out you will get more for it.

Points taken.
My next post will possibly be in the for sale section with pics.
I have an inkling that its worth more in parts..
Id hate to part out a good running car but so be it...
Im looking at moving into the low mileage luxury dept, perhaps a sc400.

I dont know what the rules are for posting for sale wout a set price so I will update this post for all your expert opinions.

If selling to the average car buyer(largest market) you have to start w/the KBB for the car for the condition it is in w/o upgrades, add the value of the upgrades(now used) which would be about 1/3-2/3 of their purchase price, then adjust that price to fit the market.

I have a car for sale ad now with pictures...
Anyone got a ball park on how much they usually get for a Supra in parts??
Lots of new parts..and all the used parts in good working order..

Seems idiotic to me to part it out,,, but since I was working on the motor for 3 yrs, cosmetics got away from me, Ive got too many other projects going to concentrate on the Supra..

So far all I have on Craigslist is someone telling me Im crazy for letting it go for the price Im asking...

I know you have spent more money than what you are asking, but this is a hobby car and not an investment. With vehicles like this you are lucky to get half of what you put into them, and that is when they are turn key drive/drive away vehicles. Most perspective buyers are likely to think you are hard up for cash and will only offer you around $3-4k for an uncompleted project, which is about 1/2 the value of what you have put into it after you deduct the $2400 in machinist work.

Most part-outs make far less than had the car been sold complete, usually half of what they listed for. Those that do tend to have to have the car sitting around for months to years. You basically have to ask yourself is it worth your time pulling small pieces off the car, dealing with people from/and shipping parts all over the place just to try and recoup some of your loss, or just letting the entire car go for the best offer you get, even if it is well below what you are asking for.

Given the current state of the economy, for the amount you are asking, I think your best bet would be to complete the car and have it at least prepped for paint.
