How much HP will the R154 tranny hold?

:icon_bigg Just want to know how much horsepower the r154 transmission can hold? I heard of up to 500-600 HP but im not sure. How much HP will the clutch take?...

Your clutch limitations will depend on what clutch you put in there. My 154 is holding 406 rwhp just fine right now. I don't know of a definate number as to it's limitations. I hope someone else can help you. Do you have 500-600 hp?.........................lol

the 154 is a pretty hardcore transmission. It's also used in the tacoma and 4runner. so people arent jokng when they say its a truck transmission. You wont find a definitive number, the variables are too many. If you throw in a good clutch, which is gonna cost ya more than the transmission itself, you could count on running a reliable 500+hp. Also, be sure to service it aka drain and refill with GOOD gear oil regularly.

Clutch type will play a role in the longevity of the trans too. A sprung disc is easier for the trans to get along with than a solid disc.

deff too many things to take into consideration.
spring disc will deff help it though.

Im over 500whp and tq and mine is holding soo far

The only difference is you are asking about the tq instead of hp
