I am putting in the HKS 1.2mm MHG and ARP bolts. I have a for boost control I am using the HKS EVC III. How much boost can i safely run on this motor? I have the HKS Fcon fuel compute as well, HKS BOV and full 3" exhaust, including downpipe.

thanks.

If ya got pistons your good for 2 bar with ease as long as the engine is done correctly :naughty:

I sure hope he has pistons or he won't be getting too far :naughty:

I have a few bolt ons, but the engine internals are stock, except for the MHG and the ARP bolts. But I won't be able to run more than 14 or 15 anyways, cuz the turbo is stock as well.

Too many variables to guess. Get on a dyno, turn up the boost until you start to lean out, then turn it back down a bit.

Turning up the boost till you go lean is not a good way to run max boost. If he has 550s in there, he would run up so much boost that he will blow up before it goes lean, especially on pump gas....

Common sense would come in to play when running on dyno. What I mean by this is that you PUT RACE GAS IN when running big power. not to mentione that it is a good safety measure. :)

He has a stock turbo. Somehow I doubt he'll get that far. As long as he doesn't run his combustion temps too high or detonate, he should be fine.

theres people out there running 20 lbs on 60 trims 60-1 and 62-1 with no problems, depending on fuel mods, tuning and healthy motor

Duane, what's the max boost you can run on pump gas?

the mkiv guys have a chart over on sf of octane/safe boost. their concensus was 91 pump octane was good for about 14psi. thats with stock timing on a 2JZ but should be similar if not the same for a 7M. change the timing and you can run higher boost.

sf is down right now but i will steal and post the full chart when it comes back on-line.

I have run up to 24psi on stock pistons and rods without any problem on multiple occasions. I just make sure my tune is good and I have plenty of race gas.

Don't forget to mention you have a relatively fresh rebuild too.

But isn't it true that our blocks, being seasoned over 15 years+, are supposedly stronger?

Thats true, I have about 30k on my block since the rebuild. But I wouldn't try pushing any tired motor hard.

Being seasoned over 15 years??? Maybe they will burn better... You crack me up..
