on my fresh 5M theres quite a bit of air coming out of the PCV valve cover hole. you can feel it with your hand. Is that normal having a steady stream of air blowing out the valve cover vent?

gosh darn it. I pulled the plugs for the 1st time and they were all blk except for #6 which looked new. and I checked for spark on it... it's got spark. so i'm thinking clogged fuel injector on that cylinder. So for a leak down test.. havn't done one since I was in mechanics school. that was 5yrs ago... so I can't really remember. Don't you just put each cylinder at TDC on compression and then pull the plug and hook your air compressor to it and listen in the exhaust and intake for hissing?

Personal preference is to break motors in on single weight non friction modified Oil as the additives may prevent the friction needed to let the rings seat.

In a 7M this is even more critical as the Cast Iron used in the Block is very hard and you can end up with glazed bore that will never seal.

Hard Chromed rings are a no no as well!
