Yes, its amazing how much more expensive the fuel pressure gauges are. I cheated and bought an oil pressure gauge. I can't tell any difference between the sending units and it worked just fine. Only issue is that the gauge says "oil pressure" on it, but as long as you know what it is, what difference does it make? I used a single gauge with a 3 position toggle switch to flip between oil pressure and fuel pressure. Worked for me just fine for about a year.

Do what mmmatt said. I've also done that in the past. The wetted parts of an oil sender can handle fuel and it doesn't "know" the difference. Some oil senders have an orifice but since fuel is much thinner it usually doesn't matter. Switching between them is a nice idea too.

I'm not running one in the car but I have a quick diconnect on the fuel rail. The gage stays in my glove box and I pop it on whenever I need to check FP.

yes. it would have saved me a BHG a few months back...on a fresh rebuild no less.

Falling Pressure switch hooked to a big bright idiot light would be better as it's often too hard to scan a gauge during a hard pull when things are happening fast!

Nash: LOL that's my point 100% I don't know about anyone else but I don't get time to scan gauges during a hard pull as things are happening so damn fast!

I installed a knock sensor with a really bright LED that I can't miss and use the RPM Limiter in my ECU in case I miss the tach but everything else is a blur!

Fuel pressure gauge by it's nature will bounce around a bit and this makes it harder to notice a problem and by the time you do it's too late and the damage is done!

A simple idiot light set to come on at say 10 psi below your operating pressure will bitchslap you that something is about to let go!

i've got one on my AFPR. eventually, it'll be replaced with a defi unit in the cabin. (providing that defi actually makes one, which i suppose i should find out)
