Spent all last week cruising with the Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour. What an amazing experience if you're a true gear head. 3000 rides of all kinds all cruising together from city to city on mostly back country roads. Small towns had welcome banners, everyone sitting in lawn chairs waiving as we cruised on through. Needless to say that we were the only Supra on the tour, but the MKIII represented very well. Lots of thumbs up, lots of compliments, and lots of "What is that?". Two different people called it a Ferrari which immediately made me laugh and think of Lamm. 1,600 miles and never turned a wrench, burned no oil and A/C blowing cold.
Then Saturday in Little Rock the most amazing think happened, during the closing ceremonies my wife grabbed me and said they just called my name on stage. I ran up there and thought I won a T Shirt or something. Come to find out I had won a complete 350 Chevy Crate Engine valued at $3,600, and they filmed it for Hot Rod TV on ESPN2. Pretty cool, I'll sell it and put some into the Supra. I'll definitely do it again next year.
