well i have a great story for all you MK III drivers. on 6/13/08 (Friday the 13Th):evil3: i was out running for work on 528 in Orlando when i realized my power steering was gone. a min later i look down and my temp gauge is almost all the way up so i pop it in neutral turned it off and pull over:1zhelp:. so i pop the hood and my crank pulley is hanging and my power steering belt is gone and my other two were torn up:nono:. i removed all of the stuff out of the way and let it cooled down. after a bit i started it up and when to the next exit down which was only a mile down the road to just get off the highway. when i realized it would drive without the fan i turned around and started driving home. i took a few precautions however. i turned the heat on high and as hot as i could get it to blow and left the hood in the latch position so that there was a crack to let air under the hood. i had to drive almost 20 miles and i only had to stop a few time to let it cool off. all in all the engine held up like a champ and no BHG and the temp gauge got up almost to the red too. to fix it i had to take a crank pulley, crank bolt, and key-way off my parts car and fixed it. I have to say after all the crap problems i have had in the past with my other 7M motors and what i hear from other drivers the motor was actually amazing. although i had rebuilt the top end and had a new HG and new head bolts that probably helped. just wanted to share my story with you, tell me what you all think.
thanks
