Somehow my wifes antenae got broke. I don't know how, but I have ordered the mast. It will be in Monday. How hard is it to replace? I did a search and came up with nothing. There were two threads, but their was never an answer. I'm hoping that I have better luck. Hopefully someone has gone through this and figured it out. Please comment if you have any suggestions. Thanks alot.:1zhelp:

yep. pop off that interior panel back there, and it's only held up by 10mm bolts. very simple.
There are no instructions because once you get in there, it's self-explanatory.

Good luck and if you still have a problem, ask away!

i had a bit of a problem with my antenna install, just because i was sent one with 2 wires instead of a stock harness plug (an autoloc) so i had to kinda hit and miss plugging them into the old wiring harness to see which two would power it like it should be. if you need me to i can go down there and check, but i got it on my first try so it isnt too hard.

Thanks guys. I ordered the mast from Toyota, so it should be the right part. Hopefully it will be as easy as you seem to think. Leave it to me to mess something up and make it difficult.............lol

So far since I've bought her this 89, I've replaced the motor, had windows tinted, new exhaust and down pipe(no cats), new hks intake, new cd stereo tomorrow, new floor mats, my old 17" polished tt mkiv rims, new hks turbo timer (not yet installed), I put two new hinges on the drivers side door today because it was dragging pretty bad. All this done in less than one week. Hopefully this will be it for a while.........lol

The new engine wasn't put in in a week. I just got the car out of the shop last friday and then started all of this other stuff. Just thought I would add, so no one would think I put the motor in and all the other stuff in one week. I'm suprahero, not superman!!!!lol

Sounds like he's replacing only the mast, not the entire antenna. Shouldn't be any need to mess with wiring.

As I recall, the mast just crimps onto the end of a 'tail' that has notches for the drive gear... I don't seem to recall this being very difficult, but in all honesty, it's been over a decade since I last replaced one.

If I can't figure it out, I know where to find some pretty reliable answers. I just hope someones online if that happens. I'm about 90% sure that I can handle it though. Thanks for everyones help.
