how do you remove clearcoat on wheels??

:1zhelp:can somebody please tell me how to get the clearcoat off wheels .cause i just got finished sanding the clearcoat off one wheel and it sucks it took me like 3 hours.is there somekind of clearcoat stripper trhat i can find around the house???

I imagine paint stripper would loosen it up.

If you're talking about the sawblades then use this stuff. You can pick it up at O'Reilleys or just about any auto parts store.

I plan on doing this to my sawblades when I paint them Gunmetal. Just waiting for a good enough weekend. The weather has been pretty bad lately.

everybody thanks for all the quick replys .i think il be trying the aircraft remover and the nailpolish remover(moms)lol......arent sawblades aluminum??

cause somehow there is oxidizing under the clearcoat from small chips of the clear coming off so im gona repolish em...they came like that i dident do it:icon_mad:.......remove clear with lots o wetsanding with 320 grit then 400 grit ,600,1000,1500 grit sandpaper then buff with a powerball and use mothers or 3m finishing polish to finish em all off:icon_mad::icon_mad::icon_mad: too much work:icon_evil

here's a pic of it removing the paint from a motorcycle i'm rebuilding (this was about 15 minutes after the aircraft stripper was put on)

as for the polishing, i don't use anything over a 400 grit anymore... IF i use any sandpaper at all

here's what it looks like with no sandpaper at all..NOTE: only the two bars going up into the black piece (subframe for the people that know bikes) has been polished, you can see before with the aircraft stripper, then after about an hour of work here:
