how do you deal with not being able to drive your car?

most of you have probably had an ongoing project that you are itching to get on the road. for one reason or another you face multiple setbacks that push your timeframe back and you are stuck waiting and wishing. what do you do to deal with that shitty feeling?

do you buy a bunch of parts and stack them in the corner of your bedroom and take pics to put up on the forums?

do you look at other people's running, driving cars with a mix of longing and jealous disdain?

do you punch your friends in the mouth for suggesting you sell it off?

do you sit in the car and pretend its finished and make motor noises with your mouth?

just wondering.

i guess i failed to realize most of you have supras for your projects AND your daily drivers.

my "daily" is a miata i bought to handle my track/autox education. its loud, drafty and cold even in the winter with the hard top on, not the best car to drive in bad weather. by comparison, the cress was almost like never leaving the house on the commute.

i think this contributes to my wanting to have it back on the road. "project daily driver."

Well, in the summer, I drive my '95 M3 while I work on the Supra. In the winter, the M3 goes back into storage and I drive my '94 Toyota 4X4 Pickup. :)

The Pickup isn't much fun to drive, but with Supra seats, it's relatively comfortable.

And I beat on my wife's G35 Coupe (which I pay for...), all the while thinking "when the supra is at 100%, I'll smoke this car in reverse, up hill, with the wind blowing against me.......:sarcasm::biglaugh:

I realize that there are slightly more important things to be doing than wrenching on a 20 year old car, like finishing my senior year.

Can I say all of the above?

I miss driving my car so much :(:(:(

I keep thinking I should sell it. God knows I desperately need the cash, but my Supra and I have been through some tough times together, and I don't think I could ever get rif of her, no matter how tough things get.

If I had a nickel for every time I said "I should just sell this f*&%ing thing", my supra would be a dependable 10 second DD and I wouldnt be posting in this thread.....:3d_frown:
