How do I shine up dull paint?

depends on how bad it is, maybe some polishing compound then some wax would do it some good, but maybe the clearcoat is just shit now rendereing it about as useful as polishing a turd.
Clay bar maybe? If his clear coat is shot will that work? I dunno, sorta outta my league here. I can't even remember the last time I washed mine let alone waxed it.
Its probally your clear coat. Some places like 5-star car wash (around my area) can deal with small scale clear coat repair. If its a huge blotch then you may need a respray.
A good way to tell if its the clear coat is to put water on it. if it looks like normal paint when its wet then its your clear coat. I never tried to repair mine but I think a good dose of turtle wax would be a good try.
