how about a walbro and an AFPR?
DEFINATELY get a new tranny cooler...our stock cooler is um...well smallish to the max.

Hey JT--how much is the tranny cooler kit? I was looking at a B&M already, but if your price is right...:D

Don't get an upgraded ct..... why push a small turbo that hard only to have it not last ten thousand miles, when you could get a bigger aftermarket or bolt on turbo and have it last much longer?

I would add an upgraded fuel pump (Walbro), adjustable fuel pressure regulator (Aeromotive), wideband o2 sensor (Zeitronix), and some type of tuning device (SAFC). The products in parentheses are what I have and would recommend, but I'm not at 400hp yet. Also you'll need to add the proper tranny, suspension, and brake mods to safely handle the added horsepower.

I don't think the cam gears and porting are necessary for 400hp. The Lexus AFM may also not be necessary, but I don't have the experience to say for sure.

As far as a turbo for 400+whp, go with an SP61gt :)

JT--umm OUCH. If I remember right the B&M I was looking at was like 1/2 that v_v

EDIT: the lexus AFM housing is necessary because 550cc injectors deliver 25% more fuel, and the lex afm housing will deliver 25% more air. Both of these increases aren't picked up by the ECU, but since they are equal increases, they negate the negative effects on each other :)

Stay away from the SP61GT. They are quite problematic. the JT61GT is the
same thing as an SP61GT, but with a better exhaust wheel, better ehxuast
housing, better oil feed and cooling lines, better wastegate. I have sent two
out, and I'm sure customers will chime in in the next few weeks on how they like
it.

If you don't follow my advice and get an SP61GT anyway, take the oil feed/return lines they give you and throw them away, and get a set from me.
You send me the old SP lines, and I'll get you one of my sets at cost, just so
you won't blow your turbo up. (I gotta take care of the MKIII Crowd ya know).

I want to make the BEST MKIII performance site for MKIII parts.

I'm working hard to do so, by this time next year I expect people to come to me
for just about everything. I wanna have only the best stuff you can get for the
MKIII/MKII.

I'm also going to be doing a shift kit and a higher stall toque converter as soon
as I can find one that will work, as well as TH350 conversion kits! (and maybe
a 700R4 kit too.

Jeff
I hope you make the kit with the adapter that uses the a340 bell housing like Grant was working on!

Well, With the few things that everyone has chimed in on, you should be ready for 400 HP. I suggest new radiator, oil pump, check the water pump, new rod and main bearings and a mild port and polish on the head since it will be out of the engine. Don't forget to machine the head, block, and rear timing plate for the MHG ;).

What's wrong with the SP61GT and the oil lines? My SP61GT went 10k miles without any problems. I eventially sold it and it had barely any shaft play. I still use the same oil feed line for my SP59GT that I used with the SP61GT, still no problems at all. The internal wastegate sometimes acted funny, but other than that, it was a great turbo.
