How do I get this hydrofan bolt off?

Seriously what the fuck, neither of the bolts for this will come off. I broke my damn extension for my ratchet trying to get this piece of shit off. I need to get something on my radiator welded tomorrow and this is the only thing holding the fucking hydrofan in. :: angry :: What am I doing wrong?

Can't disconnect the fan/shroud assembly and pull radiator up?

Or take the line off at the other end of the line?

It is a koyorad radiator and the bottom metal part for the coolant hose is stopping me from pulling it up, I tried to other end of the line and it broke my extension. I am going to get another extension tomorrow and see if that works. That liquid in the picture is some PB Blaster so hopefully that will make it a little easier by tomorrow, who knows.

Never had a hydrofan setup personally but should be a way to pull/angle the aground forward around the lower hose neck.

I've done it on a sc400 but they have a little more room but was easily done.

I got it off on the other side of the line and pulled the radiator out, that was hard to get off... so much work just for a broken overflow nipple.

Holy crap man... I don't think I've ever seen a broken extension, got a picture? I've broken bit driver bits, drill bits, and a friend of mine broke my 17mm ratchet wrench, and I may have had a ratchet pop a gear, but I've never seen a broken extension... damn.

I'll try to get a picture when I get home, I think it was just a bad weld at the part where it connects into the ratchet.

I've broken them along with other things. But was usually from either cheaper tools or on an impact.

There are welds there? I thought extensions were either cast or (more likely I would think) forged steel...

I can see that. I've rarely had a bolt hold up to the combined power of my bird arms and the 1/2" ratchet/sockets. :p

I already threw it out, it was just a Chinese piece of shit. I bought a new craftsman one.

17 or 19mm 1/2" ratchet extention and instead of cranking on it and turning to try and loosen it. Position it so you can give it one big jolt (inertia) to loosen it.

Yeah I got it off already, thanks though!

Had to do this a lot on the old Chevy last weekend... if much torque was applied, most of the bolts just sheared. Smack it nice and quick though, worked a little better. :)

Yea when taking bolts off i dont like to sit there trying to crank it off and brake it, one snap motion to jolt it enough to looseing it and that works 99% of the time

Yeah that's the high pressure line, I remember there being a lot of torque on that thing the first time I removed it too. 1/2" drive FTW!
