The most obvious way is to get a boost controller. Manual or electonic is your choice, but I would like for you to be mindfull of the of the fuel cut, and not to set your boost higher than that. You should be fine with a 8psi setting though.

It controls how much boost the waste gate sees. Waste gate opens at 5 psi then boost controller is set to 8 it wont let the wastegate open till there is 8 psi.

5lbs stock? im reading something wrong here, but stock should be higher then that, sounds like you got something more going on then just low boost man.

5-6 psi is stock, deping on conditions, plus the stock gauge isnt very accurate anyways.

installing a manual boost controller will take about 10 min with basic tools. removine the afm, and the accordian hose. on the turbo will be a vac line. remove it and install the longer hoses from the MBC. put the accordian back on, mpount the mbc somewhere easy to get to. take it for a drive. turn the knob a little bit till you reach the desired pressure. though i would recomend getting a mechanical boost gauge for this, as the stock gauge isnt 100% accurate

5.5-7.5 stock out of the turbo, depending on load. 4.8-6.0 with an automatic trans.

An MBC is super easy to install, I even made a little mount for mine too :) I used one of the tabs that you bolt the stock air box too lol cut it off and bolted it somewhere else.

The line on the bottom comes from the turbo, the one coming out the side goes to the wastegate

Yeah I think "stage 0" is a great concept...unless you hate general maintenance and love wrecking motors. There isn't enough people that know how important that step is.

You are in the right place, A turbo makes way more psi than a stock engine is ready for, once it feels about 5-7ish psi by means of a "vacuum/boost line/hose" connected to the wastegate, that presses against a diaphragm actuating(moves) a valve to now crack open and lets exhaust route around and away from your turbo (exhaust powers your turbo) to keep that low boost. Imagine if you had no wastegate or it failed, all Exhaust Gasses (EG's) would over power the turbo to make waaay too much boost and blow up your engine since it isn't ready/tuned for it. Now what if the wastegate let too much EG's bypass, you would have no boost as too little EG's would not spin your turbine just like no air on a windmill. We are trying to trick the wastegate into giving the turbine a tad bit more EG's(power the turbo up) but the wastegate only reads the pressure from the boost hose that is connected to it. If that hose was restricted a bit the wastegate would think it's "seeing" 5psi but the engine is being force-fed 8psi. That is a Manual Boost controller, (MBC) PM me with your address and i will send you a VooDoo MBC for free, I bought it when I thought my HKS EVC V was faulty. Full Address, and it's yours free of shipping, cuz that's how Supramaniacs do!
