The story, I just bought a 7mgte from a gentleman. He rebuilt the bottom end and and put the head on. He said the head was warped and he had it milled, but he can't remember how much was taken off and has no way of finding out.
I got the engine with the head attached to the block. He said he has a new balanced crank in it, through one of the freeze plug holes it says 6M on it. He said he put new bearings on it, used stock rods and put new pistons and rings in her along with a new oil pump. He said it has an OEM gasket on it, and it is secured down with ARP studs.
Also with the engine I got a 2mm mls stopper headgasket, along with another oem style headgasket.
I have a few questions, starting with the title,
1. How do I determine how much material was taken off the head and block from previous owners?
2. Would it be safe to run the stock head gasket without worrying about compression or should I get the block decked too and just throw on the mls stopper 2mm gasket?
Thanks for the help!
