i think i hit fuel cut today. not sure since i have never done it before so it kinda scared me when it happened. i turned left at an off ramp light to go over a bridge, i hit second gear and my tires broke loose. thats when i got a big jerk forward got scared and saw my check engine light. my friend behind me in his 350z said he saw a large puff of black smoke. i have the stock AFM setup but my wastegate is shimmed to 10psi. my only guess is that when my tires broke loose that the wastegate didnt have enough time to open, and it went to 13 or so and i hit fuel cut. sound like fuel cut to anyone???

its possible, but it was only like 60 yesterday. i did have a problem awhile back with my intake temp sensor having broke wires. i had to (soilder?) them back together which might give me a difference resistence. could that be related to it?

I would check for any minor boost leaks. I cant see how the wires that you (soildered?)lol could be causing this problem. What kind of boost gauge are you using?

yea, but as long as you keep a wire to wire connection and use the solder to keep them together he should be fine, shouldnt he? Nevermind the fact that he said he did it a while ago and now just hit fuel cut once.

The first things to check i would suggest is a boost leak, and how much boost he is realy doing with an aftermarket guage. shimming the wastegate isnt excactly precise especially without an aftermarket guage. Also, temperature plays a big factor if you have a shimmed wastegate like previously stated.

LOL don't know i'm guessing yours is Auto tissimo, I have no troubles braking traction on stock boost 6.5 or whatever it is.. with a highflow turbo and 3'' catback. Aint hard at all, actually likes it more than anything with a nice LSD. Not talking big revs either, 2-3g's and snap snap.

yeah i can spin my tires easily when shifting with 10psi. i also have a RPS 6 puck clutch, 3200lb pp, alum flywheel and DS. those upgrades made the biggest difference right there. the 3" dp and test pipe helped some too :)

i havent checked my codes yet, but i prob will whenever it stops raining outside.

yeah i am getting 14, 24, 34 now. i think the 14 is from when i did my compression test awhile back and i didnt clear it. the 24 is the intake temp sensor, which i havent cleared that since i soldered it too. and you all said that 34 is fuel cut right? i am gonna clear it all and see what comes back if any.

You must have some seriously slippy tires or slippy roads where you live to brake loose at 10 psi. If I launch at 3-4000 rpm I just get wheel hop and the front of the car really lifts, I can chirp the tires going into second. I have nexen 2000 tires on N/A mk4 rims. 12 psi, home made downpipe, modified stock elbow, relatively fresh engine.

With the cooler weather, I have hit fuel cut a number of times at around 10psi. I have it set at 8psi, but it creeps up to 10psi pretty quickly in the higher rpms (BIC DDP, test pipe, Blitz Nur Spec). For me, FC usually hits at 4,500 RPM, especially in 3rd gear.

Today I turned down the boost to stock 6psi, and even though it creeps back up to 10psi, it doesn't hit fuel cut. I guess the ECU doesn't "like" seeing all that air at the lower RPM.

And oh yeah, fuel cut really sucks.
