If i have a walbro without dropping the gas tank? ....i dont think there is a way. But humor me. The original owner did a lot of mods to the car, and i know he put in a new fuel pump, i bought one just in case i dont have one. After looking at the instructions, i realized that i'd seen those before in my back seat when i bought the car. How likely is it that these instructions are universal? and how likely is it that if he had done the smart mods (upgraded clutch, 3" turbo back, JDM motor, Intake filter, etc. that he did upgrade to a walbro? HMMM.. looks like i'll prolly have to drop it huh?

i'm not exactly sure, but you *MIGHT* be able to just pull out the fuel gauge sending unit and shine a flash light in there to see if it's a wally. here's a hint. the stocker is about twice the size of a wally. so if the fuel pump looks small, chances are you've already got the walbro.

if that doesnt work then you'll probley have to drop the tank, its really not hard just a little time consuming. at that you can clean the little screen/filter for the pump to and if it doesnt have one leave the tank down and drop one in before you put it back up.

Do not cut corners with any kind of work. Drop the fucking tank and put the new pump in. You have already bought it. But, out of curiousity, how much rwhp are you making? The stock pump is only good for so much... Maybe 300rwhp according to some.

Man if the tank wasnt empty when he dropped it, he'd probably hurt himself. Gas weighs a hell of a lot, lol. But yeah if you really want to know if you have a stock or AF pump your going to have to drop the tank. If you look over by the sending unit in the tank you wont be able to see anything because of the baffles in the tank. Sorry dude, no shortcuts available for this one, believe me I looked to, lol.
