horsepower question..

ok.. in Hawaii(well Kauai- one of the islands) where im at, theres no dyno that i can use to see how much hp my MkIII puts out..
i was wondering if your estimates can help me, for now.

Parts:
HKS super drager exhaust
OBX downpipe,
spectre intake
cat-delete test pipe

-i do have stock turbo at 7 psi,
-and she likes to boogie.

stock hp says 233 ish..
i estimate at least 250 on my MKIII...:aigo:
what do you guys think?

Yeah that's probably about right in the ballpark of 250-260.

i was under the impression that the 232 that our cars put out stock was crank hp, not rwhp...can anyone either confirm this, or shoot me down? (i would prefer to be shot down)

also, when "ballparking" numbers, remember these engines are ~20 years old, and probably even the best maintained one doesn't boast all 232 hp...

thats correct.

iirc i remember seeing a guy post a dyno sheet of 280 with intake and exhaust at 12 psi. so id say closer to 240hp at the wheels with your set up

when i had my 7m, intake, turbo back (including elimination of stock elbow) and 10 psi, i was at ~255 ( remember the torque is where the 7m shines though)

ya i know the feeling. ive heard stock hp is between 190-210, i always side with 210 lol. ya and the torque is awesome :evil2:

Mods: 3" elbow, 3"downpipe (with a 2.5" flex section), 3"test pipe, Tanabe hyper medallion cat back, mhg and arps, k&n cone filter, spec stage 3 clutch, upper hardpipe with greddy type RS bov, greddy profec e01 ebc, and a walbro 255:

i did 272rwhp, 324 tq at 13psi. at 11 psi i put down 259rwhp and 297tq. so id guess ya to be around 220rwhp or so at your level. Im guessin so since the difference between 11 and 13 psi will be less hp diff than 7 to 11psi because of how much hotter the air would prob be outta the turbo at 11-13 psi with stock IC setup other than my upper hardpipe.

Mhmmmmm science! Yeah you should be at or around 230 wheel horsepower, I was on a stock ct, full turbo back apexi N1 exhaust, and intake and thats what I put down.

I was on Kauai a couple of months back and saw a red MKiii parked behind the Flume/Zip-line tour place. Looked clean, in good shape and had 5 star mkiv wheels (couldn't tell if they were tt's) on it. Is this you?
