No real gain from .04, You have to realize that is not much bigger. The main reason for boring our engines is just to get everything back "straight".

Stock is 3.267", and .04" Over bore = 3.307"

comp ratio should be at about 8.5/1
hit the dyno, then tell us how much you're making. that's the only way to tell.

Ok (I'm not trying to be rude), but I just looked up the thickness of paper. Standard Photo Paper has a thickness of .038-.048, so hopefully that shows how much more area you are adding.

Thats some mighty thick paper .040 is 1mm give or take.

going .040 overbore will not gain you any power, like stated above will be done to keep everything internal in place. When you do a rebuild most of the time the cylinder walls will need to be bore out a little that is the reason why a lot of people go with 0.020-0.040 overbore pistons.

Whoa, WTF was I thinking:nono: Thanks for making me do a double take on that. You are correct sir! Even knowing that .04 is aprox 1mm, it didn't hit me how off that was. I will have to try and find that link I was looking at, but I'm sure it probably said .004 ish and not .04 :icon_redf I edited that post.
