Finally got the time to put it in. Still have quite a few more things to do before it's "finished", but at least it's in and working. Air pours out of the vent at idle, feels just like the hood is open. I got a new camera so I'll be able to take more new pics once it's cleaned up, but I have to buy a new cable for the computer so I can upload the pics, so it might not be for another week or so.

i like it! :bigthumb: i agree it would look better molded and flush, but my hood isnt molded and flush either. lol.

but damn. rain, rain, don't ever come back!

i remember i was inside my friends house when i faintly heard raindrops on the roof. i ran outside like a mad man and was able to move the supra into his garage before any water was able to get into the engine bay. Boy, what i scared. your car is running right? i would love to take a look at it, i'll be in the san fernando valley this weekend, IIRC, youre close by there.

I work 6 days a week (Monday is my only day off) but if you want my # feel free to shoot me a PM, you could always stop by while I'm at work and I could show you the car. I do security on the weekends so I can do w/e, I just can't leave. I'm pretty close to San Fernando, and if I'm at work I'm right off one of the exits from the 5 fwy. I don't drive the car in the rain, but I do plan on making a cover/extension for the vent just in case. I do plan on molding the vent in, there is quite a bit more work to do before it's done. Thanks for the compliments! :icon_bigg

Where did you get that vent from?

Shineauto. It's meant for an FC rx7 which has a flat hood with no cowl, so the vent opening was originally 24" iirc. Obviously that was too big to fit in our hood so we took out 8 or 9 inches (can't remember) and then fiberglassed it back together so it could fit in the cowl.

Wait...that's the hood you're trying to sell me, isn't it...? :biglaugh:

well either one. the one with the vent is nice, i've gotten many compliments on it. i've painted the center piece around the vent, so it looks better now.
it's just that sudden rain sucks. I'm headed to the valley, but i'm bringing the supra because my little brother and a bunch of my friends want to see it. lmk a couple days in advance when youre going to be in the valley so i can tell my uncle to let me borrow his 4Runner so i can bring you the hood.

AGlobalThreat, sure, i'll roll up there, i'll give you a heads up when my family figures out which day they want to go to universal. somehow, i know the picture you posted doesent do it justice. :naughty:
