Didn't know where else to put this so I thought here would be a good place.
So my bf found these hood pins that I liked, after much research and browsing into other types. I could not stand the look of Aerolatches on our cars (mk2s) and didn't want to get cheapie Autozone ones either.
These are made are made by QuikLatch and there's a larger version as well as many colors. I chose the billet to "match" with the polished lip of my wheels and other random chrome accents around the car.
The way these are setup I can pop the hood from inside the car and then hit the buttons on the pins without any fear of the hood cracking or being stressed out because they are already slightly pushing up on the hood from underneath and there's a good amount of play they allow. They aren't cheap pieces of crap either as they are approved and used by the NHRA.
I also brushed epoxy on the edges of the hole so the hood wouldn't come apart there.
Please ignore filthy car that the cats stepped all over :ugh2:
