So sometimes on the 1990 Honda Prelude 2.0, I crank it and it starts, but the idle just goes from 2,000 to 1,500 to dead in about three seconds. Then I wait a while and it starts without it dying like that. What would I be looking at?

Sounds to me like a fuel issue as in you are running out of fuel.
Check the pump and fuel filter for flow.

what about the CSI or cold start system in general?
lanky189 said:well first leave the hood closed.... stand in front of the car... locate that small box on the hood...inside that box is the letter "H" ...there's your problem
