Yes you can do it yourself, no, nobody can tell you exactly what you need because they made theirs according to what they wanted. You need to decide how you want yours to look.

I built my entire turbo back exhaust completely custom. I had to to work with the vband flanged turbo, and the fuel cell. My exhaust exits on the passenger side and works just fine.

is that a cat or a resonator? :)
Corect me if I'm wrong, but ends of that cat/resonator are not 3' right? So then why didnt u go with 3' cat/resonator?

That is a full 3in high flow cat.

I made mine with a couple U bends, a magnaflow muffler, and a 10 foot pipe. I flanged it around where the stock cat is at and welded hangers in the stock locations. The down pipe section was a little more difficult than the rest, but it was basically a twisted "S" shape.

After the flange on the end of the down pipe, I had a length of straight pipe run all the way to the back where the stock exhaust arch is in the rear sub frame support area. The straight piece took some work to get tucked up enough, but it is possible. Also, it had to be angled slightly. I did this by cutting a notch on one side and just bending / rewelding the pipe (~15 degrees).

Once the pipe met the rear sub frame area, I put another awkward S bend in to give the muffler a straight shot out of the back in the exact same place as the stock muffler.

The only thing I would have changed with the exhaust was the direction the 3 bolt flange was twisted. I made it to where the third ear pointed straight up so that it wouldn't snag anything on the road (also welded in a skid/brace across the angle of the flange and pipe junction). The flange hasn't snagged on anything since I made the exhaust a few years ago, but the top bolt takes me forever to get tight/loose.

Also, using a 3" flexible dryer duct piece helped to mock things up. Bent it into shape and slowly pulled it out to keep its form.

Here is what I bought to do my turboback exhaust. All bought from Jegs.com. I actually had some pipe left over. But, I just wanted to make sure I had enough and if I needed more if I didn't like the way it was. I think I spend somewhere around the $220 price range for everything shipped.

  • two 3'' four foot aluminized steel pipes
  • two 3'' aluminized steel u-bends with 12'' legs
  • two sets of 3'' exhaust flanges with gaskets and hardware (4 total flanges)
  • 3'' high flow catalytic converter
  • 3'' SS straight through muffler

I did the same as AF1JZ...went to this link here http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10002_760799_-1_10253

I bought the 2.5" for my intercooler hard pipes, and you can also get the 3" for exhaust. its real easy to use. It has built in sleeves to slide it together. All I used was a chopsaw, bench grinder, sharpie, tapemeasure, cheap welder to spot weld and then took to a profesional welder to get tig"ed" nice and tight.
