Of course paying $1500 for a 220 hp motor with little to no aftermarket is unwise. But with that kit it could get interesting. I do love the motor.

I think the 1G-GTE is bad ass, and would love to put one in a MKII, thats just me. I like to be different. There was a guy down here selling one for $900 once but had a blown turbo, big deal. If I had the money I would have picked it up.

My car's N/A, a 1g-gte even in stock form would be an upgrade, since I'm sure it weighs less than my 7MGE...

plus it uses the W58 which I already have...

a few little mods would make it a fun lil' toy..

no idea on how much power the 1G can hold, but the auction says itll do 400hp @ 1.5 bar

Yea, I read that too. But you're not going to instantly get 400 ps by just bolting this thing on. You'll obviously need to do other things to compliment this kit.

I saw an article of a guy making somewhere in teh 500whp range with stock internals. The 1G is an extremely strong motor, like JZ strong. It just has less displacement.

I have a 1ggte in my car and you guys got to get over the nostalgia. They are really a pain in the ass to upgrade, there arnt any support for them anywhere. Distributed, MAF? flappy one, only has enough support in stock form for about 250HP then its major upgrades.

There are a few people here in AUS making decent power out of them, if you search for a guy on there called 6BOOST you find some interesting shit.

Rob, oh btw I would give him $500AUS maybe $800 lol. $4900 new i think that is bullshit.

Sort of . The guy I listed before is using prepared stock crank, stock rods with a set of custom pistons. He has done many modifications to the oiling system though, he said that was the week point. The dude is making over 500hp atw I believe.
