Specs:

Good compression and leak down test results.

I have fitted a wh1c Holset after the stock turbo failed. I built the whole setup for under the price of a rebuild.

4 inch intake, full flow exhaust, driftmotion front mount intercooler, upgraded radiator, 38mm external wastegate. I have a innovate wide band, but nothing to correct fuel or timing.

The car has a stock fuel pump, with 440cc injectors and a stock maf. I understand that this isn't the ideal fuel system, and larger is needed to run the turbo properly.

The car runs very well, and on a test run it settles at around 10-11 psi, and hits fuel cut around 12psi. Is it safe to run the car under fuel cut? I purchased a 5 psi wastegate spring to lower the pressure to hopefully about 6-7 psi. I would like to tune the car at very low boost and increase later down the road.

Are safc's junk? Is it a waste of time and money buying a piggyback. I was interested in maft pro but don't have the time to keep updating and messing with new versions. If a standalone is required to tune correctly I will save my pennies.

I suppose my real question is can I run the Holset on stock fuel system @ low boost tuned and be safe.

i ran my hx35 na-t 2jz on 440s for a couple months before putting in 550s. i think it hit fuel cut at 7-8 psi. that was fuel cut with the screw removed on the stock afm though. get a wideband, afpr, and take the screw out of the afm. then turn boost up to were its just under fuelcut and get your a/f under boost around 11-11.5. you will see major gains from this.
