MHG are for two kinds of people.
1. People who want to put down lots of power.
2. People who don't want to mess with another HG ever.

OEM head gaskets are for another type of people.
1. People who don't mind raplacing a gasket if they have to.
2. People who won't push the car much beyond stock specs.
3. People who don't want to tear the entire engine apart to get the block & head surfaced properly for a MHG.

Just like games of chance at the curcus, you pay your money and take your chances.

If you detonate severely, you are going to kill both, even with a stock HG. Ask me how I know.
Plenty of headgaskets have been blown under boost that arent Supras, while saving the shortblock. Cast pistons doesnt help though.
