EDIT: Oh I just noticed this is the forum for 86.5 and up if someone can delete this I will post in the correct area. Sorry

Well this being my 6th remote start alarm I'm confident I've done everything how it should've been done.

Now after about a week after the install their is an issue with the alarm.

What happens is when I unlock thedoors witht he remote the locks unlock but then quickly lock again.......

At first today while i was diagnosing the locks would keep locking no matter what even if i pressed the unlock button on the door the locks would quickly lock back up.

So instead of spending $40 plus on a door lock control unit I just grabbed 2 relays and figured it out after an hour so I now have 2 relays instead of the door lock control relay.

Things got better but not perfect now sometimes they'll lock back sometimes they won't. The good thing though is now when i use the button on the door they always stay unlocked they don't lock themselves again only about 40% of the time when I unlock with the alarm the doors will lock themselves again and then I have to lock the doors and unlock until they stay open usually 2-3 tries now. Before i replaced the relay I actually had to unlock the doors and quickly open it before it would relock about 2 seconds later.

It's a 1985 toyota supra I would really like to get this fixed I'm out of ideas really I set some of the options of the alarm off like automatic locking etc. parking lights staying on for a few seconds after is off also.

I thought about the switch making contact at all time but it really doesn't seem that way since this is an intermittent problem. I will most likely replace it anyway for the hell of it.

Last thing I didn't connect the disable alarm wire because the first time everything worked fine and I wasn't able to find the damn wire my guide said I needed. At least the colors don't match up and I tested other wires without success.

OMG!!!:aigo: Sorry I'm not going to be any help, but this same thing happened to me... plus I have reason to believe that it was draining my battery :icon_conf. I eventually unhooked it and haven't wanted to mess with it anymore.:3d_frown: My car hates me... but I'll always love her!:icon_razz

Which system are you using? I guess it's a reverse polarity locking system? Also, did you try to reset the alarm sysem?
