Hey all,
I've bought myself an HKS Super AFR. One of their early fuel controllers.

My question is not really about the AFR itself but about AFM's.

There are 4 different types of AFM's it allows your to adjust for:
Hotwire 0-5v
Hotwire 5-0v
Karmen Vortex
Pressure sensor

Now the 1G-GTE (2litre) uses a flapper type AFM and is the 0-5v style.
Would the output signal from this be the same as the "hotwire 0-5v" style allowing me to use this option for the AFR?

Also has anyone delt with this before? There is an RJ45 Ethernet port on the back of the unit - what is this for?

Cheers

Hunt

I've asked around and I've had people say YES it will work as I have had people say NO it wont.

Can anyone confirm for sure, please, if the HKS Super AFR's setting of "Hotwire 0-5volt" will work with a flapper AFM?

Yes, hotwire 0-5v is what's used for the flapper. I used it on my NA engine with the flapper. Only difference is that the NA 7M flapper is a 5-0v, so check yours to make sure it's not 5-0v.

The voltage versus flow rate curve of the hot wire sensors is not linear, and I believe the safr has some approximate information built into its chip to compensate for it, so dont expect a %5 change to change the afr %5 at all flow rates. It should work fine though.
