Is it better to run the hks ssqv with or without the stock bov? i will not be recirculating the ssqv. I have read about both set-ups so im now wondering.

I am using my stock BOV along with my HKS SSQ. I do not have a problem with stalling or anything like that, runs perfect.

I am going to get rid of the stocker as soon as I get my VPC installed

the only difference between the stocker and the hksssq is that the hks holds more psi obviously, and it unlike the stocker will vent to the atmospher, when it does this is vents out metered air causing your motor to run lean/rich in between shifts... the stocker feeds the air back into the intake...

well its not lean/rich... its just rich. and u can make any blow off valve vent to atmosphere. but whats the benifits to running the stock blow off valve if your still venting the hks?

Ya, I run the SSQV vented to atmosphere with no stock jobber and I don't have much problems. I have 5 speed too. Just try it and see what you think.

I don't think there is any... if you think about it your still losing metered air from the vented bov... the stocker is still putting some of the metered air back in... but some of it's escaping making your run rich... at least that's what I think... someone else might chime in...

I run the new SSQV that has no adjustment screw. I may shoot flames, but my engine doesn't chug or bog down between shifts. The only reason I could think about using both the SSQV and the stocker is because I have some bad turbo chatter at low boost.

i run both because last winter i was having some problems with compressor surge with just my HKS so now I run both and no compressor surge

Running the stock with the HKS is the best way to do it, until the stock starts to leak at high boost. The stock opens much more easily then the hks and will help with surge at very low boost or just part throttle lift offs.

Agreed. This is how mine is set up.

PS: You can get a recirc fitting for the HKS units from 935. I did. :)

Alrighty. I never new this post existed until I SEARCHED.:). Well, can someone please provide a picture of what it looks like with HKS BOV and stock BPV? I am pretty sure I have it mapped out in my head, but just to be for sure...I have compressor surge.:(
