if you want to get more boost and avoid fuel cut you would have to get both the hks defencer and a boost controller however its not very safe b/c fuel cut is to protect the engine from leaning out

FCD was never meant to be used alone. It was meant to be used with the full HKS suite of piggybags.

Without it... Grenade without a pin comes to mind.

Why are you hitting fuel cut without a boost controller? Boost controllers can't lower boost. Sounds like either 1) you have a shimmed wastegate 2) you have a boost leak

I dont have much $$$ either but i managed to get a lexus maf for cheap and bought two sets of evo 8 560cc injectors. The lexus maf and the larger injectors is the better way to go it raises the fuel cut instead of eliminating it.I can hit 15-16lbs of boost without issues.start searching junkyards and craiglist.

well i have full 3" exhaust, 3'' FMIC and im hitting fuel cut. ive notice when i push the car it creeps from 11-12 psi slowly and then i hit fuel cut

My car has been in this state for the last 3 years. Instead of spending a little money and potentially blowing things up, I want to save to do it properly. I can still do WOT to redline in 1st and 2nd, 3rd and higher I just make sure I control the throttle so it doesn't go north of 11psi and I'm fine.

There's something wrong with this picture. I'm on a stock CT-26, 3" turbo back (DM downpipe, test pipe, Blitz cat back), HK$ intake, and a previous owners mystery spearco style IC, and without a boost controller was only running ~7 psi.

The exhaust being 'free' should not cause the wastegate to stay closed longer.

Check for boost leaks and check the little hose that goes from the turbo to the wastegate.

I've always seen an increase of boost when you've got a good exhaust and intake...

Stock exhaust to a good 3" and downpipe usually yields an extra 2-3psi on the stock turbo, a little more on a 57-trim which is enough to put you in to fuel cut zone.

well im hitting fuel cut with stock turbo, full 3" exhaust, mishimoto FMIC, 3'' intake pipping. it will creep fuel cut sometimes.

That behavior sounds pretty normal for the modifications to the intake and exhaust. If you want to be absolutely sure you can check for leaks. Easy process and doesn't hurt anything, so why not?

ive checked for boost leaks bc i had a huge one when i put the new FMIC in and i couldnt drive the car. but now its fixed for sure on the boost leaks. i mean whats the best better to do to bring the boost down to 10psi

Only way to bring it down if it's getting that high is by adding restriction. Basically you have to deal with it if you can't take that jump forward with fuel or take steps backwards from what you've upgraded.

Boost controllers only turn boost up, they can't turn boost down. What a boost controller does is it restricts the vacuum line running to the waste gate actuator so the waste gate opens up later. So your waste gate actuator may only be seeing 7-8 psi but in reality the rest of the system is at 10 psi.

so if your wastegate isn't opening fast enough or wide enough to limit the flow, you won't be able to fix that by restricting the vacuum late and making it operate even later
