is the hks f con any good, does it get rid of the afm?, does a afc do the same thing and what is better a f con or afc?

Not sure about the Fcon, but the VPC gets rid of afm... Fcon I believe acts like the SAFC does... But not sure, never used it... I have a VPC and SAFC...

It's a Vein Pressure Converter... It tricks the ecu into thinking it has an afm... You can do mild tuning with it as well...

From HKS-USA: "e HKS VPC is a fuel management device that is designed to physically and electronically replace the OEM air metering devices for improved air flow and precise fuel delivery control. OEM air metering devices, such as Air Flow Meters (Flapper/Plunger types) and Air Mass Sensors (Hot wire / Karmen Vortex types) measure the amount of air flowing into the intake manifold in order to properly control fuel enrichment levels. Aside from offering no adjustment or reprogramming options to take advantage of dramatically higher amounts of airflow or larger fuel injectors, the OEM air meter also represents a significant restriction to the intake system. To overcome this restriction, the VPC physically removes the OEM air meter to dramatically improve airflow capacity and converts the system to what is referred to as a speed density system. By utilizing a 16-bit central processing unit, the VPC reads it’s own intake air temperature sensor and absolute pressure transducer (B-MAP sensor) signals and then converts those signals to one that is recognizable by the factory ECU. The VPC also incorporates the ability to upgrade the internal application specific ROM program to correctly compensate and take full advantage of larger, Higher flowing, HKS fuel injectors and/or the greater air flow characteristics of larger turbos. Each application specific ROM program is calibrated for a specific injector size, fuel pumps, camshafts, and/or turbos, ensuring that the correct injector pulse width is calculated to prevent driveability and reliability problems. Since the VPC “piggy-backs” the factory ECU, all factory systems are still intact and operational. Fine tuning of fuel curves can be further achieved by integrating the plug-in GCC or by wiring in a Super AFR."

If you look for my post with my turbo question on this forum, you will see I posted my dyno... If you look at the A/F ratio/curve at the bottom of the dyno you will see what the VPC can do... That perfect table top a/f line is ONLY the VPC tuning... The SAFC isnt being used to tune, at all... *YET...* Also, if you look at my turbo, you'll see why Im using a VPC... *4" inlet as opposed to the CT26's 3" inlet*

does a vpc and afc make a big diffrence in power, do they have pre made wiring harnesses or do you have to wire then yourself?

Yes and yes...

Well, YES if you have supporting mods... Dont go buying a VPC and SAFC and throw it in your car if its stock, you're wasting money... But when you start HEAVILY modifying your car, then yes, it makes a huge difference, because it allows you to tune and fine tune your air and fuel delivery at many points through out the RPM range... The only way you could get any more detailed is if you went full stand alone... I personally love the VPC, and the SAFC is just wired inline with the VPC to clean the signal... Eventually, when I solve my boost problem, the SAFC will be used to fine tune for higher boost and eventually race fuel and EXTREME boost... Now, not only do the two in conjunction help fine tune to provide more power, but more importantly, the allow you to fine tune for better drivability! You can smooth out idle, cruising rpm and wot as well... Like I said, Im sold on them...

As for the wiring harness: I know the VPC has a wiring harness, not sure about the SAFC as both times I've had them, we just hard wired them... It's easy...
