HKS EVC EZ Boost Controller

Hey guys, I have an HKS EVC EZ Boost Controller. With the fuel we have here, the maximum boost I can achieve without knocking is about 16 PSI. The issue I am having is that the boost will spike to, say 16PSI then drop down to 12 and hold. Any idea if the HKS EVC EZ is defective or just it's characteristics?

that be the issue's of an internal WG.... saying that you cant change the rate the boost comes in can you? because if it comes on to fast its going to spike more. i know you can on the blitz DSBC but i'v never used the HKS unit so i'm unsure.

it's a Trust/Greddy TD06. HKS Intercooler and piping, HKS downpipe, test pipe and cat back. HKS intake, Lexus AFM, RPS clutch, TEchtom computer, JE pistons, HKS Metal Gasket, ARP head bolts...................

The EVC EZ is or was HKS's EVC for dummies. At least that's how I viewed it. It's a fairly simple device, has a Solenoid that goes between intercooler and waste gate, similar to your described blitz. The electrnic controller is inside the cockpit.

i have EVC EZ and never have boost spike problem , only boost creep but i ported waste gate so it's fixed . boost creep is when boost slowly keep creeping up and never stop due waste gate not big enough or waste accuator malfunction . boost spike is boost that went up very fast then dropping back down to setting . this either bad boost controller or the hoses hook too long cause it delay boost controller to open . for the hoses , the shorter the better ( quicker ) for EBC to response .

Thanks for that information. After some more research (http://www.allpar.com/mopar/boost-creep.html) I believe my car suffers from boost spike. Because it "spikes" to eg. 16psi and drops to 12. Now you posrted your waste gate. Do you have any information on how to accomplisg that?

your problem is boost spikes not boost creep , none of waste gate concern . you either have bad boost controller or hoses too long ; bypass boost controller ( without boost controller ) to see if you still have boost spike . and yes i'll show you how to port waste gate ( only if you have boost creep ) .

Can u show me how u ported yur w/g?? lol I need soeme motivation to do mine but im scared to do it. If u could post up pics or me pm me anythin that would b great!
