I have questions.
Any on you with the BIC downpipe, does it have a gap at the top of the turbo? Mine seems to but Im thinking the gasket is sealing it. I have to go repo my feeler guages from somebody who borrowed them... I know a razor blade fits the gap in the top middle as I was like WTF is that about? I havent had a chance to check for an exhaust leak...

The HKS SSV when I drove the car tonight sounds odd.. It doesnt do a steady wosh sound. its more of a spinning sound Im hearing when I let off the gas (no I havent busted it open yet Im taking it easy to break in the turbo)

It may be the K&N fipk and all but this Supra makes a LOT of noises I havent heard before... I keep hearing something under the console too... a steady thruming... I beleive that is the trans though as the car has sat for ages...

Im also hunting a clunk sound in the drivers side rear of the car... It doesnt do it all the time but it is TRUELY unnerving.

for BIC down pipe, i dunno cause i made my own.

but for the HKS its just surging. my buddy running 14 psi on a t67 and at low boost when he lets off it surges. its just what the BOV does. way its designed maybe??? i dunno but it does it on my 7m as well. we loosened it and everything and it STILL did it, either that or it would leak so we tightened it and it surged. odd

Its just odd that at low boost (I cant get into the car just yet as I just installed the turbo) the thing sounds like that.

Im going to check the downpipe tonight... Im going to be insanely upset if its leaking at the top of the turbo where the downpipe bolts to the turbo... We were soooooo careful not to scrape it up when installing it (ceramic coated) and you know the more you fool with someting the more the odds go up that you will
scratch it up.

I actually expected the car to be a lot different with the larger exhaust, cat, downpipe, turbo upgrade, K&N and blow off valve... Car doesnt feel that pepy BUT I have not gotten into it yet.
Also the Tanabe is louder than stock.... Not obnoxious but its loud in the car... Im going under and checking the bolts also tonight...

When I installed my BIC ddp, it sealed up too the turbo pretty tightly. You say a razor blade fits in there, how far? Can you get the blade all the way into the "stream" of the exhaust? Or, is the blade stopped by the gasket? (Does that make sense?) Either way it sounds like something's not quite right. Are you re-using the stock elbow-to-turbo nuts? If so, maybe try getting new ones. Or try cleaning up the exhaust side of the turbo to get any corrosion out of the way. Sorry if this was completely useless to you, just trying to help.

I used a new gasket and nuts. It is seated tight...

We are going to have to kack the car up as something is hitting. If I turn left it sounds like the driveshaft is nailing the car or rubbing real hard. Its possible the exhaust I just hung is too close. (tanabe, titan cat and BIC downpipe.)

All the hangers are in place but between the HKS BOV making the spinning sounds at low boost and that damned rattle.... Im about ready to kill this car.... Or hire an exorcist.

Its a vibration... Something is hitting. Its not water rushing...

This is a steady thrumming sound... Almost like the driveshaft is rubbing the exhaust... Im going to get under there friday night (stuck working too late today)

Its killing me though the car should be fine...

Maybe I need different hangers or I put the hanger on my catalytic on wrong...

Carrier bearing is a possibility but this wasnt like this before... And the carrier bearing is farther back...

Im almost positive its not the brakes... They are weak (need new master cyl after sitting 6 months) but not capable of this vibration....

Im thinking a bolt or hanger is messed up...

bolts or hangers for what? the exhaust? if it was that then it'd only vibrate when your giving it throttle and when you go over bumps... it shouldn't vibrate under idle...

an exhaust hanger can make a rattle under idle. friends rx-7 has a hanger that just contacts the gas tank heat sheld. makes this high pitched squeek that is anoying as all hell.

vdragonmpc, you said that if you turn left that it sounds like something is hitting. could it be something in the suspention. a loose shock or ball joint.

and when you put the dp in did you torque the nuts down evenly? i dont mean to the same ft/lbs. i mean like doing a few turns on one and then a few turns on the next and next before final torque. but if its not leaking then it wouldnt worry me that much.

if it's anything like the defcon dp that i have it rattles a little sometimes right where the floorpan connects to the firewall. it's not all the time and not really under certain conditions, just whenever
