Just a little forewarning to all…. There is a Hiro spoiler on ebay, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-...33638QQitemZ8007830296QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

The spoiler does not fit correctly. You will need extensive fiberglass work done to it in order for it to fit correctly (visually). There are large gaps between the factory 3 piece and the Hiro, 3/4” in places. I had the stock 3 piece spoiler. If there are differences between the JDM 3 piece and the US one - maybe it would fit better? I don’t know.

Anyways I am completely done doing business w/ Jarco. They refused to return the item unless I gave them there “30% restocking fee”. That’s $122 they wanted to charge me for a spoiler that they said fit our car. For any skeptics… I took it to two separate custom body shops, both said it doesn’t fit correctly and would need fiberglass work.

I eventually placed a fraud report w/ Paypal. Close to two months later I got all my money back(thank you Paypal). Mind you I sent multiple emails to Jarco prior to taking it to this level. The emails either went unanswered or were responded to with a 30% restocking fee option. On top of this I’ve spent over $700 w/ these bastards in the past, meant nothing to them.

Here are some pics, w/ it mounted w/ as much minimal gap as possible.

I sent them a question asking if this was for the JDM or USDM 3 piece spoiler... Who knows if they'll answer... Its lame when they dont realize, or recognize there is in fact a difference between US and Japan parts and try sell it off as universal...

Sorry about your bad experience with Jarco...

i've had nothing but good experiences with jarco, but you have to call them... they only check their email once every month or so, mostly due to the fact that the phone is ringing off the hook all day. both times i was down there it was like that. plus, they told me they get like 400+ emails a day from stupid kids who don't have any money and want to drop a 2jz in their celica/civic/sentra for less than 500.00 ... that's over-generalizing, but you get the idea. i've never had any problems when communicating with them over the phone.

i am sorry you had a problem with them though, that's not good. stuff happens sometimes though.

I definitely see that side of the picture. Fact of the matter is the majority of us have to probably deal w/ large amounts of b.s. at our jobs. For any company to survive though, they need to take care of the customer, especially ones who have dropped close to a $1000 w/ them in the past.

I had direct email contact w/ a Joe V. there who must be head of the ebay side of things. The first couple emails he replied to my emails within a day. Then he started to point the finger at me as of being in fault. I maintained a very professional manner/ tone with him, to my regret. I offered for him to select a body shop for me to take it to (via yellow pages) to prove it did not fit……….. no reply. Then I asked him if perhaps there was a difference between the US and JDM 3 piece spoiler………. No reply. Finnally I contacted Paypal’s fraud dept. to step in – sorry Jarco, but I’m not bending over and taking a $400 hit on a false description.

Everyone comes across bad experiences here and there, but I find this inexcusable. Sure they probably have to deal w/ kids every once in awhile and their buyers regret. Well your average kid doesn’t drop $700 on a used exhaust set up.
What really pisses me off is that they have the same spoiler back on ebay with NO mention of it not fitting properly. It’s pure and simple insulting.

Sorry - I’ve been needing to vent. :bigun2:

I asked them:

Any fitmient issues with this spoiler? There is a difference between USDM and JDM 3 piece 89+ spoilers... Just thought you should be aware and let people know if this is for a JDM or USDM Supra...

They responded:

Thank you, but the good news is, the Japan three piece spoiler is the same as the US. They even have the same part number. This does fit and I personally test fitted it to one of our employees US car. Since it mounts to the center section and overlaps the outer portions of the factory spoiler, it does leave a small gap between them to account for the flex of closing the hatch, so that it will not kit the factory spoiler when closing the hatch.

Thanks for looking out for us Joe. That "small" 3/4" gap will ensure we don't scratch our cars while closing our trunks!!!!

I'm a fan of the whole Hiro kit and it looks like the other Hiro rear spoilers I've seen. It has a gap, if it didn't, the compression of the hatch against the rubber would bust the sides of the spoiler. I would agree with you that the gap is large, but it has to be or it would never work. They had no reason to refund your cash, unless it's worse than you show.

Perhaps they should have answered your emails a bit better, but you have(Had) what was produced by Hiro for the MKIII.

According to you then, I guess Goliath must have a defective spoiler. Should I break the news to him?

Chill....by your pics it doesn't look that bad to me. Yours must be bad if his fits that much better. I'd rather have too much gap than too little.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. I've had nothing but good deals with JARCO. :) Hiro must have had a bad day, when they made that unit. :naughty:

Just one more reason to enjoy my 88 spoiler. :)

Always the best looking setup, was the original one. (IMNSHO.)

I agree on the photos though, the gap is not excessive, and I think once it was mounted to your spoiler, it would have just allowed room for the hatch to move around w/o hitting the sides of the 3 part spoiler.
