ok guys i dont know if its been done but whats the highest hp ever achieved by an mk3. jbl? cuz theres a guy here in asheville says hes got like 575 and has dyno sheets to prove it just curious.

Duane is making 665 to the wheels, Will Nealy made over 700 to the wheels, and Turbo Tony is making 802 to the wheels... My old set up was 512rwhp and that's weak sauce, so my new set up will be good for over 700... So, your friend's 575 has a ways to go before he can think about having the highest HP MKIII... Maybe he has the highest hp MKIII in Asheville? :D

i personally am going for the highest horsepower white 90 mk3 with blue interior and 37 cents in the ashtray in ky. wish me luck.

there was a vid on here before we got hacked with a guy that pulled 700hp on stock internals. i have the vid i just cant get it to work anymore

700 rwhp mkiii ray was the file name

I am going for the slowest I plan to swap out the Motor for and R-22 with a single speed auto tranny with manual gear engagement. I am hoping for 12HP with a top speed of 10MPH

Highest I've seen personally was Tony's car in Vegas. (The orange one.) I do think his buddies with what I think was Tony's old setup turbo wise was pretty powerful on a stock engine too. (Like 700 at the wheels.. but I was not there that year.)

I really think that once you exceed 450hp, or 500tq at the wheels, no amount of tire is going to get you hooked up most of the time.

Case in point.
My 285 tires are worthless at anything over about 23lbs of boost, and I'm likely around 500lbs of tourqe at that point...

Must say it's amazing to just walk right by guys with strong V8's like they are driving Yugo's....
